Damian Anthony Clay Sr., 51, of Kansas City, KS, passed away unexpectedly on June 12th, 2024.
He was born on December 14th, 1972 to Sherly Lynn Barton, KCKS & Daniel W. Clay (Lanora) of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Damian attended KCKS Elementary schools following F.L. Schlagle High School, graduating class of '91. He continued his education at KCKCC finishing with a degree in music. He was an awesome tambourine and trumpet player.
Damian was currently employed at Continental Siding where he enjoyed working and doing commercials where he would call his children and say he was the hood superstar. Damian worked several warehouse jobs as a warehouse manager.
He was loved wherever he landed his foot in the door. Damian loved playing dominoes with his grandfather and friends but he made it a priority to play a game or two with his grandpa. He would tell his son Jr, "to whip out the game so I can bust your head in some Madden." He was also in the bowling league.
Damian's children were his pride and joy. He loved spending time with each one in his own unique way. He always found a way to have family time; to have Sunday dinners and watch movies. He loved throwing the football with his one and only grandson, Messiah.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Damian A. Clay, Jr. (Kimyetta), Jaylen D. Clay (KCKS), Adonis Clay-Ewell (KCMO), Corey D. McCoy, Jr., and Alton Whavers III; his daughters, Dameisha Clay (KCKS) and, Serrena Ewell (KCMO); grandson, Messiah Leeks (KCKS); mother, Sheryln L. Barton (KCKS); father, Daniel W. Clay (Lanora), Lincoln (NE); brothers, Anthony Kemp (Lachala) (KCMO), Derice McCluney; sisters, Eboni Charles (Eddie), Lincoln (NE); one uncle, Tye Barton (Angela) of Tonganoxie, KS; one aunt, Phyllis Barton; grandfather, Harvey Barton, Sr. (KCKS); close friends, Larry Block, Jr., Nick Sanders, Jessie Ross, Adrian Williams; the mothers of his children, Monica Hunter, Amanda Ewell, and Gina Wright; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
