Clarice North, 94, of Windsor, Missouri, died Monday, June 12, 2023, at St. Lukes Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
She was born September 4, 1928, in Racket, Mo., the daughter of Jud and Mable (Cochran) Summers. She attended schools in Leesville and Coal and graduated from Clinton High School. Her first job was in the billing department at United Telephone in Clinton, Mo.
She married Charles E. North on March 4, 1950, and to this union 3 children were born, Gail, Bill, and Mike. The family lived in Kansas City, Mo., for 43 years and Clarice worked in accounts payable at the Western Auto home office in downtown Kansas City. She retired in 1990 and Charles and Clarice moved back to Windsor in 1995. She joined the Windsor United Methodist Church and she was Secretary and Treasurer of the Christian Service Group, taught Sunday School, was the Membership Chairman, and was on the Council Committee. She enjoyed traveling, especially annual trips to Hawaii with Charles. She canned vegetables from the summer garden and her green beans were enjoyed year-round at special family dinners. Clarice loved her children and grand-children and her dog and and cat "Rosie" were faithful companions.
She leaves behind three children, Gail Echerd (Tom), Blue Springs, Mo., William "Bill" North, Kansas City, Mo.; Michael "Mike" North (Nancy), Palmdale, California; 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Echerd Dilley (Brian), Seminole, Texas, Timothy Echerd (Stacey), Mission, Ks., and Kelly North Baughman (Brett) Belton, Mo.; 4 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Alyssa, and Emily Baughman and Austin Dilley; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles on September 1, 2018; 4 sisters, Velma Byrum, Jane Huey, Laverne McLeran, and Perrie Benson; and 2 brothers in infancy.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Tebo Cemetery, Leesville, Mo., with Pastor Pete Hill officiating. The family suggests contributions to the Windsor United Methodist Church in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
