With deep sorrow, the family of Clark Eugene Bumgardner, age 73, announces his passing on August 15, 2025 at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. After suffering from cancer for many years, during his final moments, Clark was surrounded by family and friends. Clark was born in Greencastle, Indiana on May 17, 1952 to George Randolph Bumgardner and Hazel Arlene Allen Bumgardner.

Clark lived in Brazil, Indiana at the time of his death with his dear friend Deborah Griffey. Prior to this he lived over twenty years in the Stilesville, Indiana area.

Clark graduated from Cascade High School in 1970. While in high school Clark worked with the neighborhood farmers. After graduating high school, Clark joined the United States Marine Corp. Following his service in the Marines, Clark worked in various trades and odd jobs. He especially liked working in carpentry and building/remodeling homes, where he was known for his craftmanship.

Clark will be remembered as a high-spirited individual with a heart of gold and a great storyteller. Clark had a great love for his family and especially his nieces and nephews. He was always receptive to anyone needing his help. Clark loved to read and sometimes would read round the clock while working in a couple of snacks.

Clark is survived by his siblings: Clifford Randolph Bumgardner (Donna), Ada Catherine Cisneros (Jose), Peggy Lee Stone (Michael), Connie Susan Maddox, Timothy Allen Bumgardner, and William Todd Bumgardner. He is preceded in death by his mother Hazel Arlene Allen Bumgardner, father George Randolph Bumgardner, and sister Frances Arlene Williams.

A memorial reception will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Stilesville Fire House, 8353 N. Hendricks St, Stilesville, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of choice.

The family would like to thank Debbie Griffey, the dedicated staff at the VA Hospital and all those who provided such excellent care for him in his final hours.
