William Clark Siler
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of William Clark Siler, 66, to the eternal fishing tournament in the sky. Clark is survived by his loving wife, Carol, his stepdaughter Jessica (Jeffrey) Caicedo and their children Gabriel and Trinity of Portland, OR, and stepson Kyle (Megan) DiCapio and their children Anna and Riley of Winchester. He is also survived by his brother Mike (Libby) Siler of Lexington, along with sisters-in-law Anne Lewis and Laura (Randall) Williams, brothers-in-law John (Susan) and Philip (Danna) Chamberlin, cousin Scott Shelton, and father-in-law Rev. Richard Chamberlin. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and is preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Siler Lewis, father Bill Siler, Jr., stepfather Roland Lewis, and mother-in-law Virginia Chamberlin.
He will not be missed by the many small-mouthed bass he traumatized in Lake Cumberland, where he loved to fish. Clark was an avid fisherman, earning the nickname "Bass" for his success in tournaments when he was a teenager.
Clark was a gifted musician, he sang and played piano, guitar, and keyboard, performing in bands such as Loony and the Tunz, and leading praise teams and choirs in several local churches. He also participated in musicals and plays with the Rose Barn Theater. In later years, he served by playing the piano to drown out his wife's extremely loud family gatherings for his fellow in-laws.
An excellent cook, he made meals like his famous Quiche, perfectly seasoned steaks, and enjoyed hosting shrimp boils for friends and family. Interestingly, as an avid fisherman, he never seemed to make fresh fish hmmm. His beloved Granny taught him to cook, and now Carol worries she will starve without his culinary skills.
A celebration of life will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, August 2nd at The Richmond Area Arts Council, 399 W. Water St., Richmond, with no formal service. Friends and family are invited to drop in and celebrate Clark's life with music, light appetizers, and shared memories. Memorial donations may be sent to Women Leading Kentucky, 3320 Clays Mill Road, Suite 113, Lexington, KY 40503, an organization he passionately supported in its mission to empower women. Alternately, donations to your local bait and tackle store would be appropriate as well.
