Clark Tebbs Obituary

Clark Marchant "Chuck" Tebbs

December 11, 1942 - November 28, 2024

- Chuck's mortal journey ended on November 28, 24 at his home, surrounded by his dear wife Jodi, children, and grandchildren. Chuck battled cognitive and physical decline the past year. One of his mantras in life was "inch by inch, life is a cinch, yard by yard life is hard". He passed from this world the way he lived, inch by inch, until it was enough.

Chuck was born in Lovell Wyoming to Reba Marchant Tebbs and Cal Meeks Tebbs on December 11, 1942. He is the 7th of 11 children. He grew up in Cowley, Wyoming and moved to the Cottonwood Heights area with his family in his high school years.

Chuck attended Jordan High School, he excelled in athletics. He carried the family love for basketball in his veins. Chuck was an All-State hooper in Wyoming and Utah and he earned scholarships at BYU and Westminster College. His shooting form and ball management skills are legendary. The man did not turn the ball over.

More importantly, his love for God, family, and Gospel of Jesus Christ are the hallmarks of a life well lived. Chuck is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served two full time missions. As a young man, Chuck served in Texas. Later in life Chuck and his dear Jodi, served in the Regina, Saskatchewan Temple. In between these full-time missions Chuck served in his local wards and stakes in a variety of callings.

Chuck and Jodi met, fell in love and were sealed and married in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised one amazing daughter and four sons. They built a successful independent insurance agency together, cared for parents and loved ones together, and laughed at Chuck's jokes together. Most importantly, they have grown together over a lifetime, and supported each other in becoming true disciples of Jesus Christ and overcoming each challenge along their path.

The Salt Lake Temple is a special place to Chuck. He served 11 years as an ordinance worker, often times volunteering to serve multiple days each week. Chuck loved and cherished time spent serving in The House of The Lord.

It is impossible to write the sum of this man's life. Chuck made fast friends everywhere he went. He loved to help people. He was generous to a fault, quick to forgive, and slow to anger. Only a certain child that enjoys wearing blue shirts could crack his patient nature. Chuck's sense of humor and kind nature are well known and much loved. You can insert your favorite Chuck moment here. There are too many favorites to list!

Chuck is back home with his departed loved ones. Singing with his sisters and brothers, while his mom plays the piano. Surrounded with all those he loves. We'll all be coming' around the mountain soon enough Dad! Until then, you know what they say.

Thank you so very much to all those who have served him over his lifetime, and to those that have allowed Chuck to serve them as a church leader, a coach, or a customer at the insurance office.

Our family wishes to express gratitude to those who spent countless hours taking special care of Chuck during his illness and to all those who have expressed kindness, care, and love to our family.

Chuck is survived by his sweetheart Jodi. His siblings Loretta, Christine, Jeff, Reba and Caleen. His children Tifini, Ryan, Justyn, Quynn, and Brady. One fantastic son-in-law, Lynn. and 4 wonderful mothers to his grandchildren. Kara, Amy, Ivy, and Emily, 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He loves you all and he will be rooting for you from heaven!

Visitation held on December 7th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Cannon Mortuary. 2460 Bengal Blvd (7600 S), Salt Lake City, UT 84121. Family graveside service to follow at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery in Cottonwood Heights.

I loved serving with Chuck in the temple. He helped me learn the ropes when I was called to be shift coordinator for the sisters on our shift. He was kind, patient and added just the right amount of humor or a story to help me through the difficult learning curve. When I met Jody, she was just as wonderful and fun. Dave and I enjoyed their hospitality as well. Love and hugs to all your family. Mansells

Dear Tebbs Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and hope that you feel the peace of the Savior's atonement!!! We wish that we could be there to give you a hug today (esp. Jodi) but we have to go to Deb's relative funeral. Must have a party going on, on the other side with how many are leaving this beautiful earth. We LOVE the love and friendship that we've shared with the Tebbs and Nydegger family since childhood. GOOD PEOPLE!!! XOXO

I was introduced to Chuck by my dad, Ned Winder, an avid follower and announcer for Utah State High School Basketball Tournaments, when I bought my first car and needed insurance. He, Chuck and Jodi were good friends and it was easy to see why. The Tebbs Family has been more to us than just our insurance agents. For over 50-years they have helped us with our insurance and we've crossed paths other times, always glad to see each other. On behalf of the Winder Family, we express our love and sympathy to dear Jodi and all of the family. Having known Chuck has been a blessing to us all!

Chuck was a friend to all, a smile and a warm welcome. He will be missed but very welcomed by those family and friends waiting for him on the other side.

It is with a heavy heart that I learned of Chuck's passing. He was not only a very close personal friend of ours, but he was one of the finest counselors a bishop could ever want. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jodi and the family at this difficult time.
Love,
Jim and Pat McKean
