Claud Bailey, 80, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on September 30, 2025.
Born October 23, 1944, in Henderson, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Otis and Riva (Arnett) Bailey. A proud United States Veteran, Claud honorably served his country before beginning a lifelong career in law enforcement. He dedicated his professional life as a police officer, serving his community with integrity and compassion.
Claud was a member of Tipton Masonic Lodge #33, Logansport Shrine Club, American Legion Post #60, F.O.P. Lodge #71.
On July 28, 1966, in Denbigh, Virginia, he married the love of his life, Rita C. (Culp) Bailey. Together, they shared many years of marriage before her passing in 2020. He was also preceded in death by his son, Scott Brian Bailey.
Claud is survived by his grandson, Alex Bailey of Logansport; great-grandson, Atlas Bailey; sister, Versie Bailey of Milan; and his dear friend, Janet Arnold.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday October 9, 2025, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Gundrum Funeral Home followed by a Veterans Service by the Cass County Honor Guard and a F.O.P. Service at 1:00 PM.
