Claude Le Gall, a man known for his deep faith, thoughtful nature, and skillful creativity, passed away on July 3, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA. Born on June 2, 1950, in the city of Fort-De-France, La Martinique, France, Claude's life was filled with devotion to his faith, his family, and his work.
Survived by his cherished wife of 50 years, Mary Anne Le Gall, Claude was a beloved father to his children, Genevieve Fortner (Matthew), Gwenael Diller (Kevin), Jeff Le Gall, and Anne Ferbrache (Elijah). His legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren, Noah, Jacq, Owen, Henry, Sophia, Naomi, Andrew, Isaac, Elisha, Junia, and Annaelle and one more on the way. Claude was a brother held in high esteem by his siblings Jean Francois, Marie Annik, Thomas, Andre, Soazig, Monique, and Herve. His family will miss his gentleness and the twinkle in his eye when he shared stories of his youth in France.
Claude's Catholic faith was the compass by which he navigated his journey through life. It was this deep-seated belief that inspired him not only to live a life of integrity and kindness but also to teach his faith to others. He was known for his ability to listen intently and observe thoughtfully, qualities that endeared him to many and made him a respected figure within his community.
With his background in math and physics, Claude started his career at Schlumberger in France. He and Mary Anne moved to the US in 1976 to work at Princeton-Gamma Tech. The skills he developed finally led him to Universal Display Corporation, where he worked on a team as a Senior Research Technician to develop colors for OLED technology until his retirement in 2022. Claude's commitment and dedication to his work was evident in the quality of his contributions and the respect he earned from his colleagues.
His interests were as vast as the ocean he loved to sail-a pastime that brought Claude joy and tranquility. His hands, always ready to create, found their expression in building and drawing. Claude's artistic talents were a testament to his keen eye for beauty and his careful powers of observation, captured in his sketches, designs, and building projects. He also had a passion for music: often found seated at the piano, his fingers danced over the keys in a melody of his own making. His love for reading opened worlds of knowledge and imagination, and he was always eager to share the insights he gained with others.
As we bid farewell to Claude Le Gall, we celebrate a life faithfully lived and a man dearly loved. His memory will long inspire those who knew him, his kindness, humility, gentle spirit, and wise counsel. Claude's story does not end with his passing but continues in the blessed hope of Resurrection.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 11:00AM - 1:00PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Road, West Trenton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Ewing Cemetery. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Claude Le Gall, please visit our floral store.
