Claude Wayne Thomasee, born October 9, 1944, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at the age of 80. A proud veteran, Claude honorably served his country in both the United States Army and Navy during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Claude built a career as a dedicated truck driver, spending many years traveling the roads he came to know so well. Off the road, he found great joy in music-especially Cajun, zydeco, bluegrass, and the blues. A talented guitarist, he cherished the songs that spoke to his Louisiana roots and the stories of life, love, and resilience they told.

Claude also had a passion for cooking, especially when it came to crawfish boils-bringing family and friends together with good food and laughter. His love for Louisiana culture ran deep in everything he did.

Claude was the beloved son of the late Riley & Oreline Thomasee. He is survived by his loving wife Kathie Thomasee and children: daughter Angela Walker & her husband Terrance Walker of Frierson, LA, and son James Thomasee & his wife Crystal Thomasee of Shreveport, LA. He was a proud grandfather to Allen Walker & his wife Amanda Walker of Stonewall, LA; Bethanie Dodd & her husband Jared Dodd of Frierson, LA; Kendall Thompson & her husband Jordan Thompson of Frierson, LA; and Brianna Thomasee of Goldonna, LA; Morgan Rice & her husband Damian Rice of Frierson, LA; Skylar Thomasee of Shreveport, LA; Riley Thomasee of Shreveport, LA, and Phoenix Thomasee of Shreveport, LA. Claude was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride.

Claude's legacy is one of service, strength, and soulful music. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew and loved him.

He will be laid to rest with military honors at the Keithville, LA VA Cemetery, a fitting tribute to a life of honor and dedication.
