Clayton Keith Blom, of Cadott, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, just two days before his 80th birthday. Clayton was born on July 9, 1945, in
Bonduel, Wisconsin, to Hans and Nettie (McCoy) Blom. He graduated from Bonduel High School in 1963 and began college in Appleton, Wisconsin. His studies were interrupted when he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served his country honorably in Vietnam. While on leave, Clayton married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Monie Kay Nohr, on May 3, 1969. After finishing his service, Clayton completed his degree at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He and Monie spent many years in Schofield, Wisconsin, working and raising their family.
Clayton worked as a field representative for the Mental Health Association before transitioning into the insurance industry, eventually finding a calling in job placement and vocational rehabilitation. Through his work-whether in insurance, job service, or managing the city's workfare program-he touched countless lives by helping others find dignity through employment. After retiring in 2004, Clayton and Monie enjoyed traveling and decided to make Sun City, Arizona their winter home, where they loved singing in the church choir.
Clayton was an avid sports fan, a passion he carried throughout his life. He loved playing golf, tennis, and softball and never passed up a good game of cards or board games. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. Whether cheering for his favorite teams, watching his grandkids play sports, or enjoying a game with family, he found joy in all that sports have to offer-competitiveness, camaraderie, and lasting memories.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Monie; his daughter, Kimberly Goetz; his parents, Hans and Nettie; his brother, Duane; and his sister, Millicent Svetnicka.
Clayton is survived by his cherished twin sister, Cathie (Aaron) Beilfuss of Pulaski; his son, Ryan (Carrie) Blom of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and his son-in-law, Scott Goetz of Cadott. He was a proud grandfather to Jade (Brock) and Jaron (Taylor) Goetz, Evan, Ella, and Greta Blom; and a delighted great-grandfather to Ellie Goetz; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for family. From farm life to military service and a career helping others, Clayton lived with humility, purpose, and compassion-always guided by faith and an extremely generous spirit.
