Clayton Kohlmeyer, age 43, of Wolsey, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Huron Regional Medical Center. A private graveside service will be held.
Clayton Edward Frederick Kohlmeyer, son of Marlin and Valerie Kohlmeyer, was born February 20th 1983, in Aberdeen, SD.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey.
He attended Wolsey School through his sophomore year and then passed his GED with a nationwide high score. He was later diagnosed with Aspergers and lived at his parents’ home for the rest of his life. He loved to cook and he treated his parents to many new culinary dishes.
Clayton was a voracious reader and retained much of what he read. His favorite subjects were science and ancient history. He also played video games with people all over the world. He taught himself computer coding and he, along with a couple of friends from England, and Tennessee, built some additions to a "share ware" game.
Clayton is survived by his parents of Wolsey, his sister Melanie (Cody) Laird of Sioux Falls, and his nephew and niece, Tyler and Natalie.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents Ed and Gen Kahre, Fred and Ardess Kohlmeyer, and his uncles, Tim and Kevin Kahre.
