It is with great sadness and profound grief that we announce the passing of Cleo Nell Turner Shaw, at age 79 on October 10, 2024. Cleo was born in Austin, Texas on January 29, 1945, to Jim and Isabella (nee McCarther) Turner the last of seven children.
In Austin, Texas during 1968, Cleo met the love of her life and husband of 52 years Lindbergh Shaw. Cleo and Lindbergh raised five children together. She was known far and wide for her impeccable and delicious cooking. She would tell you what was on her mind but loved hard and would give you the shirt off of her back. Along with her immediate family, she was a devout Jehovah's Witness having attended Rosewood Congregation in Austin, Texas for many years. She dedicated her life to Jehovah God on July 15, 1978, and was a faithful witness until her death.
Cleo was predeceased by her Father and Mother and was the last surviving child of that union, Lucille, Jim Ella, Bobbie Jean, Howard, Melvin, and Billie.
She is survived by her husband Lindbergh Shaw, sons Hye Yancis Turner and Kenneth Shaw (Angela); daughters Rhoda Carter (Mark), Avis Shaw and Angela Shaw; sister-in-law, Pat Shaw; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other family members, close friends and loved ones.
We invite you to leave your memories and upload photos to the memorial page. Let's keep Cleo's spirit alive by sharing the moments that made her special to each of us.
