Cleo Wignall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2011.
Cleo Allred Wignall returned to her loving Heavenly Father on July 17, 2011. She was the eldest child born to Mildred Leavitt and Cleon Allred on February 24, 1934 in Hayden, Duchesne County, Utah. She married LaMark Jay Wignall, January 28, 1955, in the Salt Lake Temple. Cleo spent her early childhood in Hayden and Neola. Cleo was active in the LDS church and served in many callings. Her love for the youth abounded as she taught them in Sunday School and Primary. She was blessed to continue that service as a Primary and Young Woman’s President and enjoyed all those she associated with. She also worked with the Boy Scout and Cub Scout programs. She also worked in the extraction program for years until the new indexing program became available and then spent her time making those names available to their family members. Cleo’s Grandma Leavitt taught her to quilt. Cleo became an avid quilter, giving quilts to her children and grandchildren, and others around her. Her favorite past-times were gardening, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She is survived by her husband and five of her six children: Paul (Mary) Wignall; Beaver, UT, Christa (Neil) Bushman; Payson, UT, Owen (Blanca) Wignall; Provo, UT, Kyle (Stephanie) Wignall; Payson, UT, Amy (Renvic) Erickson; Washington, UT. Her 3 sisters, Ellna Kilpack; Camdenton, MO, Rhea Wilson; Logan, UT, Diane Smilowitz; La Mirada, CA. 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son David, a sister Marlene Allred, and her parents. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 at the West Mountain 3rd Ward church, 900 West 400 North, Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary of Payson, 587 South 100 West, Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 and at the church Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Payson City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Primary Children’s Medical Center.

So sorry to hear about this. Cleo was my sister's mother-in-law and my niece's grandmother. I had great conversations with her and remember laughing a lot during those conversations with her. She had a great sense of humor. She will be missed.
