Cleveland "Uncle Boy" Davis Jr., 84, passed away on March 24, 2025, at home in Sicklerville, New Jersey. He was surrounded by loved ones and his home health aide Chrissy.
Born on July 18, 1940 in Thomasville, Georgia, he lived a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and commitment to his community.
Cleveland honorably served in the United States Army and was discharged in 1964. Following his military service, he built a long and successful career with Wakefern Food Corporation (Shop-Rite), where he worked diligently for over thirty years before retiring at fifty-four years old. His dedication extended beyond his professional life; for fifty plus years, he was a proud member of the Prince Hall Acacia Lodge #23, demonstrating his deep commitment to brotherhood and service.
Cleveland is survived by his former spouse of thirty years, Jean Robinson Davis; his daughter and caregiver Bonita Davis Hill (Christopher); his sons Cleveland Davis III (Christine) and Garry "Nicky" Harris (Leslie); and cherished by his grandchildren Joel, Lauryn, and James Davis; Isaiah, Isaac, Daniel, and Desiree Torres. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Jordyn Jean, Nazaire Adams, Tristan White-Torres, Hannah Torres, and Sa'Miya Davis. His sister Carolyn Davis Coachman mourns his passing alongside his longtime companion Ms. Sharon Eley. He will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
