Clifford Cain, affectionately known by many as Cliff, Donnie, Maynard, and Little Donnie, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 27, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on November 29, 1962, in Ottawa, Kansas, Cliff was a vibrant spirit dedicated to both his family and career.
Raised by loving parents, Donald and Karen (Haverty) Cain, Cliff graduated from Ottawa High School before earning his degree from Emporia State University. While he once dreamed of becoming a cattle rancher, his professional journey led him to a successful career as a marketing sales director, where he applied his creative talents and passion for innovation. In the last several years, you could find Cliff at the Alma Cremery.
Cliff cherished his role as a father, and his children were the joys of his life. His love for them was evident in every shared moment and adventure, as he embraced the role of dad with an open heart. He was known for his caring nature and his willingness to embrace new challenges, showcasing a spirit that resonated with those around him.
An avid supporter of Kansas University and a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Cliff's enthusiasm for sports was a significant part of his identity. Those who knew him often remember his contagious, recognizable laugh.
In addition to his various passions, Cliff enjoyed a fine Coors Light or a Diet Coke, often savoring these beverages during moments of relaxation. His adventurous spirit took him far and wide; he lived in Japan for several years and traveled extensively across the globe, creating memories that he would fondly share.
Cliff's love for water was demonstrated through his ownership of a boat while living in Michigan, where he spent countless hours enjoying the serenity of the water.
He is survived by wife Kerry Cain of Phoenix, Arizona, along with his cherished children Makenna, Carter, Brylee, and Teagan. Cliff is also remembered by his sister, Candie (Craig), uncle David Haverty (Susan); and aunt Sharon Hiner. His legacy will live on in the love he fostered and the lives he touched during his time with us.
Cliff is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Karen Cain and his sister Babette (Babbi).
As we remember Cliff, let us celebrate a man who embraced life with passion, humor, and a profound sense of love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
