Clark Dale Meyer, 85, of Sabetha, Kansas, died on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his residence in Sabetha.

Clark was born on December 28, 1939, to Louie and Erna (Stauffer) Meyer in Oneida, Kansas, and grew up on a farm near Bern, Kansas. He graduated from Eureka County School and attended Bern High School, where he participated in sports. Football was his passion. After high school, he joined the Kansas National Guard and attended Highland Community College in Highland, Kansas, where he played football until a knee injury ended his career. He also attended college at Emporia State University, Kansas State University, and Washburn University.

Clark met Eileen Tanking at Turner Hall in Bern when he asked her to dance. Clark and Eileen were married on May 14, 1960, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, Kansas. They enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with three children, Daniel, Dennis, and Dena.

Clark worked for Western Electric for five years before returning to the northeast Kansas area to farm. He was a stockman and grain farmer and also worked as an electrician at the Mid-Am Dairy in Sabetha.

Clark was a man of few words. He loved to fix anything. He loved playing golf. Clark was good at solving puzzles, including jigsaw, Sudoku, and crossword puzzles. He loved to read and could always be found reading a good book.

Clark was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Virginia Jackson.

Clark is survived by his wife, Eileen, of the home; his two sons, Daniel (Suzanne) Meyer and Dennis (Kellie) Meyer; his daughter, Dena (David) Langley; his eight grandchildren, Savannah (Tim) Stroud, Laramie Meyer, Sam Meyer, Isaac (Jackie) Meyer, Micah Meyer, Lydia Meyer, Jessica Meyer, and Seth Meyer; his three great-grandchildren, Kailyn Stroud, Logan Stroud, Canaan Meyer, and another great-grandchild expected in January; his four step-grandchildren; and his three step-great-grandchildren; his sister, Beverly Barker; and his brother, Russell Meyer.

Clark will lie in state on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha. A visitation with the family will be held on Sunday evening at the mortuary from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sabetha. Before the Mass, a rosary will be prayed, starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the Sabetha Cemetery in Sabetha. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mary Cotton Public Library and the Sabetha Community Hospital, both in Sabetha, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
