Sarah Tharp Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Sarah Beth (Korkames) Tharp, 42, of Eudora, Kansas, who died suddenly on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Leavenworth County, Kansas.
Sarah was born on November 2, 1983, in Valparaiso, Indiana, the daughter of George and Susan (Leftler) Korkames. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the Class of 2002 and went on to earn a Biochemistry degree from Benedictine College in 2006.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Jason Tharp, and two daughters, Aubrey and Addison Tharp, of the home; her parents, George and Susan Korkames; her in-laws, Dennis and Stella Tharp; a sister-in-law, Rae Ann Babbitt (Ryan); and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
On December 20, 2006, Sarah was united in marriage to Jason Tharp in Osawatomie, Kansas. Jason was her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two beautiful daughters, Aubrey and Addie, who are their pride, joy, and greatest accomplishments. Sarah delighted in every moment of their lives, from their first breaths to their recent high school dances, cross country races, wrestling, and powerlifting events. She took great joy in who they were becoming and celebrated every milestone with love and enthusiasm.
Sarah worked as a Quality Assurance Manager at MCC Labels in Kansas City, Missouri. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a constant and joyful contributor to her community and school events. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures like extra cheese, and sour cream. She extended that enthusiasm by always opening her kitchen to others, from feeding hungry high school football players with her famous Chicken Fried Chicken to serving her well-loved breakfast burritos to every Eudora High School junior during finals week.
Sarah & Jason loved to travel together, from China to the Cape of Good Hope and back, they made memories that will never be forgotten. Sarah also treasured her friendships deeply, from her longtime high school gang, to her Eudora family. She was a loyal friend who showed up for anyone in need.
Sarah has been a constant source of strength and support, whether cheering from the football sideline or advocating for her family in a doctor's office, she would face every season with courage, grace, and unwavering love.
Sarah's love, laughter, and generosity touched countless lives. She will be remembered always for her warmth, her strength, and the deep love she poured into her family, friends, and community. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit endures in the hearts of those she loved, in the memories she created, and in the lives of her daughters who carry her light forward.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Eudora, Kansas. To celebrate Sarah's life, a visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 1003 John L. Williams Dr., Eudora, KS 66025.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Aubrey and Addison Education Fund and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067. A meal train fund can also be found here: www.mealtrain.com/trains/n9w0k6
