Clifford Dean Malaise, the son of Bill and Ruth (Coulson) Malaise, was born on March 3, 1939, in Webster City, Iowa. He was raised on a farm near Woolstock and attended Woolstock School. After school Cliff was in the United States Army for four years.

On June 1st, 1963, Cliff was united in marriage with Ardy Yoder. The couple made their home in Woolstock and raised two children: Karen and Curtis.

Cliff worked for various farmers in Woolstock as well as working for Modern Farm Systems in Webster City, and Van Diest Supply Company in Webster City. After retirement he worked for Kastler Ditching and Tiling in Woolstock.

Cliff was a member of the Woolstock United Methodist Church, Woolstock American Legion, and Woolstock Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting deer and pheasant, and working in his garden. He took pride in his hard work and dedication to his family.

Cliff passed on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon, IA, at the age of 86 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ardy Malaise; sisters, Shirley Marker and Marlene Leeper; and brothers, Dick and Tommy Malaise,

Cliff is survived by his Children, Karen Johnson (Jerry) and Curt Malaise (Erin Clifton); grandchildren: Jennifer Royer, Nicole Paul (Chris), Garrett Malaise and Nate Malaise; great grand-children, Lucas and Noah Paul; sisters, Annalea Hassebrock, Fran Shroyer (Phil), Rosie Arnold (Glen), Pauline Collins (Leroy), Ellen Harvey, and Darlene Friesleben; and brother, Kenny Malaise (Pat).
