Clifford Riener Obituary
Clifford J. Riener, age 59, of Palisade, NE passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at his farm near Palisade.
Cliff was born June 16, 1964 in McCook, NE to parents Dennis Lee and Doris J. (Sattler) Riener. He was one of two siblings who attended school in Palisade, graduating from Palisade High School with the Class of 1982.
On September 5, 1987, Cliff married Shirley Kaye (Maris) Riener at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook, NE. To this union three children were born. The family made their home in Palisade where Cliff enjoyed farming with his father and his son. Cliff was employed by Southwest Public Power from 1982 until 2017 when he retired and began farming full time.
Cliff enjoyed restoring old tractors, hunting and fishing, and was also an avid Cornhusker Fan. The summer months found Cliff boating on the area lakes and coaching little league baseball while also helping maintain the fields. Some of the most memorable trips he and Shirley took over the years were to Las Vegas, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic. Outside of his love for his family, Cliff's dog, Duke, was his best friend and favorite side kick.
Cliff was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Palisade.
Cliff was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Riener; and his father and mother in law.
Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Shirley Riener of Palisade, NE; son Tyler (Sadie) Riener of Palisade, NE; two daughters, Sheila (Blake) Prusia of Gibbon, NE and Bethany (Clay) Harmon of Inland, NE; mother, Doris Riener of Palisade, NE; sister, Sylvia (Robert) Dunker of Atwood, KS; six grandchildren, Krewe, Scarlett, Leo, Brantley, London and Trey; as well as many extended family members and lifelong friends.
