Robert L. "Bob" Waltemath

Robert (Bob) L. Waltemath, age 77, of McCook, Nebraska, passed away on August 21, 2025. He was born March 9, 1948, in McCook to Walter and Jennielee Waltemath.

Bob grew up in Moorefield, Nebraska, and graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis before earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Bob was united in marriage to Della, and to that union they were blessed with four wonderful children. On June 9, 2001, he was united in marriage to Rita Waltemath, and he lovingly fathered her two daughters as his own. Together Bob and Rita made their home in McCook, where he lived until his passing.

Throughout his life, Bob worked in agricultural sales, forming lasting friendships with farmers and colleagues. He especially enjoyed visiting with farmers and sharing about Conklin products.

In his free time, Bob loved fishing, tending his garden and yard, and taking peaceful drives through the countryside.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Jennielee Waltemath.

Bob is survived by his wife, Rita Waltemath of McCook; his sons, Kent Waltemath (Stephanie) and Troy Waltemath (Julie); his daughters, Heather Howell (Tom), Brandy Edgren (Steve), Tiffany Corbett (Chris), and Whitney Goodenberger (Aaron). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Bob will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook; Bob's family will greet friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday morning, August 27, 2025 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Chaplain Tyler Thiessen providing words of comfort. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook will follow services.
