Ethyl Marie (Logan) Siegfried passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loved ones. Known for her boundless compassion, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness, Ethyl touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.

Ethyl was born on May 2, 1936, to Forest and Lena (Hawkins) Logan. She grew up in McCook, NE and graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1954. It was there she began shaping the values that would define her life – hard work, kindness and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She married Larry D. Siegfried on October 24, 1954, and together they raised two children, Calvin and Dawn, on their family farm south of McCook. They moved to McCook in 1994.

Ethyl had a remarkable ability to bring people together- there was always a spot around her table and a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was a haven for laughter and storytelling, fueling a love for family that she would carry and instill in others throughout her life.

She was known for her service to the community and was involved with numerous organizations, including the Memorial Methodist Church (making countless pie crusts for the church's food booth at the Red Willow County Fair) and the American Red Cross. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed reading, and was known for her unmatched cooking skills, including her famous homemade noodles, dill pickles and mud pie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Larry, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her two brothers, G.L. (Sandy) Logan of Lincoln, and Bob Logan of McCook; children, Cal (Julie) Siegfried of McCook and Dawn Siegfried of Lincoln; former daughter-in-law, Beth Siegfried of McCook ; seven grandchildren, Ben (Kate) Siegfried, Cody (Shelby) Siegfried, Adam (Lindsey) Siegfried, Laci (Jake) Mueller, Barrett (Rebecca) Eiler, Madison (Dutch) Bell, Mallory (Javier) Beltran; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Ethyl's family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM on Saturday morning, July 26, 2025 at Memorial Methodist Church in McCook. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook will follow services.

Memorials are suggested to the family of Ethyl Siegfried for future designation. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.
