John P. Siegfried obituary, Fairbanks, AK

John Siegfried Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John P. Siegfried of Fairbanks, Alaska, on Aug. 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. John was an avid outdoorsman who shared his passion with family and many of his friends. Above all, he had a deep love for his family and showed this devotion in countless ways.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years before retiring in Fairbanks, where he went on to work for the State of Alaska in the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities for 17 years. John was an avid "amateur" photographer who never gave himself enough credit for his talent.

Cherishing John's memory are his wife, Dian; his children, MagenLee James (Sean), Charles Anthony Siegfried (Brittani), and Leslie Gene Siegfried; his grandchildren, Roman, Drake, Ayden, Hudson, Greyson, Bella, and JP, and his namesake. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine; his in-laws, Myrtle M. and Henry C. Ellis; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Chuck), and Jama (David); along with his nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Alan and Raymonde Simone Siegfried, as well as many beloved relatives, friends, and cherished fur babies.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, directly followed by military honors at Northern Lights Memorial Park.

The celebration of life will take place afterward at Moose Mountain Ski Lodge. Please join us to honor John's life and share special memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate.
