Craig Russell Kuchel, of McCook, NE, went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the age of 75.

In the 17 years Craig was at SWATS he found joy in the simple things that life has to offer; especially being outside fishing or going on the walking trail with his newfound friends. Craig found comfort sitting by the window with the sun on his face, watching the world go by.
Craig enjoyed looking nice and going to dances, bowling, shopping, and any other activity where he was included.
Craig brought immense joy to those who worked closely with him and shared an individual bond with each of them. Being a man of few words, Craig expressed the love he had for people with a smile that lit up the room, a warm hug, and a wave that was filled with joy and happiness.
Among the things Craig will be remembered for, is the resilience, strength, and courage he had from walking through darkness and coming out a beacon of light. For the last 17 years of his life, Craig found a family who accepted him and loved him as he was, and he will be missed.
