Clifford Veit

VEIT, Clifford – of Davison, age 86, passed away on February 17, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, February 21, 2025 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Blvd. Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Jeffrey Frechette Sr. officiating. Interment, with Military Honors will take place following the service in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd, Davison. A Memorial Service will be conducted by the American Legion Post #267 at 7 PM at the funeral home. On Friday, there will be visitation one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Quality Living Systems, or the American Legion Post # 267 – Honor Guard Unit.
Clifford was born in Flint, MI on January 7, 1939, son of the late Vergel and Clara (Brenner) Veit. He graduated from Kearsley High School in 1957, and went on to the Michigan Military Academy, graduating in 1964. Clifford proudly served his country with the Michigan Army National Guard, retiring after 44 years of service as a Colonel. Clifford married Mary Jane Monroe on October 24, 1964. He was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and was active as an Elder, and in the Worship Ministry. Clifford was active in the American Legion Post # 267 since 1992, serving as Post Commander for several years. As a member of the Post Honor Guard, Clifford served at many military funerals. He also retired from the United States Postal Service after 44 years.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; children, David (Becky) Veit and Amy Veit; grandchildren, Nathan and Ryan Veit; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and a sister.
