Clinton Stacey Flint, fondly known as Clint, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 14, 1939, in Stockton, California, he was the cherished son of Clifford Leroy Flint and Evelyn Endora Shankel Flint, along with his brothers Bill and Ken. They grew up in Stockton, together with many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins, where Clint cultivated a love for learning and community engagement that would define much of his life.
Clint attended Stockton High School and furthered his education at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a degree in Education. His commitment to fostering the growth and development of youth extended into his career as he took on various roles in teaching. He eventually branched out into industry as a sales representative, making significant contributions at BF Goodrich, Farm Bureau Insurance, and Chase traffic doors where his connection to people and fostering lasting relationships defined his life’s work.
In addition to his professional achievements, Clint proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that imbued him with a deep sense of camaraderie and respect for his fellow Marines. His life was a testament to service, not just through his military background but also through his active participation in community organizations. Clint was a founder and president of youth soccer associations, demonstrating his passion for nurturing young talent and promoting team spirit. Clint's commitment to his church, New Beginnings Church in Whitesboro, Texas, reflected his deep faith and desire to contribute to his community.
His hobbies included being a private pilot and aviation enthusiast as well as enjoying soccer both as a player and a referee. Known for his distinctive love of festive Hawaiian shirts, Clint’s larger-than-life personality meant he was a friend to everyone he met. A cup of coffee and a chat with him often turned strangers into friends, and he delighted in sharing a joke or a funny story, ensuring those around him felt welcomed and valued. His love of animals extended from work at a veterinary office and zoo in his youth to raising cattle and horses later in life on land he loved working. Clint was a rancher and thus a Jack of All Trades who could fix anything. He always said, when you live on a farm, 'gotta wear a lot of different hats.'
Clint is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia Louise (Elliott) Flint, with whom he shared a loving marriage for more than 62 years. Their family blossomed with the joy of their children, Nicole Maher (married to Salman Maher) and Corbin Flint (married to Atchara Damkaew). He took immense pride in his grandchildren, Sofia Maher, and Maxwell Maher, and he held a special place in his heart for Naa Ratree, Atchara's auntie.
While his parents and siblings have preceded him in death, he leaves behind a wealth of memories that will continue to inspire those who knew him. The family is grateful for the unwavering love and support from friends and family throughout the years that have brought joy and comfort across the miles.
As we remember Clinton Stacey Flint, we celebrate a life enriched by connection, service, and a deep sense of community. His legacy of kindness and humor will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend, mentor, and loved one. He will be profoundly missed.
