I n Loving Memory of Cloteal Lott Sunrise: May 24, 1935 Sunset: April 11, 2025 Cloteal Fryer Lott was born on May 24, 1935, in Gonzales, Texas (Lone Oak Community), to Bessie Hopkins Fryer and Brack Fryer, Sr. She was one of eight children born to that union. Cloteal was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, friend, and educator whose gentle spirit touched the lives of many of her students, colleagues, and friends in the community. A devoted Christian and longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Runge, Texas, Cloteal's life was guided by her faith, compassion, and service. She and her siblings were raised on a farm where she learned the value of hard work and responsibility at an early age, by helping feed their animals and completing daily chores. Cloteal was a graduate of Edwards High School in Gonzales, Texas. After high school, she continued her education at Prairie View Agricultural & Mechanical University, in Prairie View, Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Her passion for education led to a remarkable 38-year teaching career, five in Gonzales and thirty-three in Runge. She was deeply committed to her students and pushed all of them to achieve academic success. On August 3, 1963, she was united in holy matrimony to Floyd Riley Lott of Runge, Texas, with whom she shared a life built on love, devotion, and mutual respect. Their bond was strong, and their love served as a foundation for their family. Cloteal was the proud mother of two children: Renee Clack of Round Rock, Texas, and Earl Lott (Janice) of Lakeway, Texas. Her legacy continues to shine brightly through her three grandchildren: Colby Clack, Chloe Lott, and Braeden Lott, and three great-grandchildren: Amiya Thompson, Kaeleb Thompson, and Kaeliya Thompson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted sister, Bobbie Courett of Houston, Texas; children, Renee and Earl; grandchildren, Colby, Chloe, and Braeden; great- grandchildren, Amiya, Kaeliya, and Kaeleb, brothers-in-law, Homer F. Lott, Jr. and Jacky K. Lott, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and cherished friends. Cloteal was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Riley Lott; loving parents, Brack and Bessie Fryer; siblings Brack Fryer, Jr., Joyce Steen Ruffin, Lawrence Winston Fryer, Sr., Frank R. Fryer, Sr., James Elmo Fryer, and Lacy Troy Fryer, Sr. Cloteal Lott's life was a testament to patience, strength, humility, and unconditional love. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17th at the Runge United Methodist Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church. Burial will immediately follow at the Runge Cemetery.
