Clyde "Chutchy" Benn, 85, of New Castle passed away the morning of January 27, 2025.
Born on April 30, 1939 in New Castle Chutchy was the son of the late John and Irene Natale Benn.
Chutchy is survived by his beloved wife, the former Mary Ann Tonsche. The two were married on April 29, 2002.
Chutchy had worked at Youngstown Sheet & Tube as a crane operator and shipper. He then worked as a Bartender at the Eagles Club.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Chutchy loved life. He enjoyed going to the local social clubs, listening to Polka music, playing cards, going to the horse races and spending time with all his friends. Chutchy was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. One of his fondest memories was traveling and the Pilgrimage to the Holy Land he had taken with his wife.
In addition to his wife, Chutchy is survived by his three children, Jodi Spagon, John Benn and Cindy Cornell (Mike), his stepdaughter, Marlena Gabriel (Stefan), his brother, David Benn (Barb), eight grandchildren, Mark, Mike, Nicholas, Crystalyn, Jacob, Cindy Ann, Nicole and Steven and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Chutchy was preceded in death by his son, Mark Benn and grandson, Danny Spagon.
Visitation will be on Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Father John Gizler officiating.
Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
