Clyde Carl Budd
September 7, 1943 - October 27, 2025
Clyde Carl Budd, born on September 7, 1943, passed away at the age of 82 on October 27, 2025, at McLaren Bay Region. Clyde was the son of Lyle Budd and Eleanor (Greenwood) and grew up with a strong sense of family and community. He was a longtime member of River Life Church of Bay City, formerly known as First Pentecostal Church. Clyde spent many years working as a maintenance man for local apartment complexes, always side-by-side with his wife, Janet.
Known for his patriotic spirit, even though he never served in the military, Clyde had a deep love for his country. He was a collector of knives and small curios, a hobby woodworker, and someone who found joy tinkering away in his garage. Above all, he was a devoted father who took great pride in teaching his sons to be kind and honorable men. He had a gift for storytelling and was always ready for a good conversation. Clyde was not only a loving partner but also a fighter, facing life's challenges with resilience and heart. He will be remembered fondly and deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was the cherished husband of Janet and a devoted father to Clyde Budd II, Lyle (Christie) Budd II, Bonnie (Philip) Silvester, and John (Barbara) Gordon. His grandchildren include Nathan Calcaterra, David (Hilary) Silvester, Rachel Silvester, Josh Gordon, Jeremy Gordon, and two great-grandbabies. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, his son Russell, and three siblings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at River Life Church (formerly First Assembly of God) on North Union. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions in Clyde's memory according to their wishes.

As a former pastor of brother Budd, I always enjoyed the company of the Budd family, either we visited together at church or their home. Clyde and Janet were a fun couple to be with. They certainly cared about people and their church.
Clyde would always want to be involved in everything that the church was doing, even at his elder years. He came to every men's praying in the morning and enjoyed eating my wife's chocolate gravy and the Cops & Donuts. If you had any get together and he didn't know about it, you'd wish you had included him, that's a true patriot and a faithful soldier of Christ.
Their is so much more great favorable things to say about Brother Budd that time or space could not cover it all, unless you put it in a book.
We love you Brother Clyde, we will miss you. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
