Clyde Preston Sterling, of Searcy went to be with his Lord on May 9, 2025. He was born September 19, 1942, in Bald Knob to the late Henry and Rosie Sterling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his partner and soulmate of 16 years, Bethyl Marlene Martin, and his siblings, Virgil, Raymond, Wayne, Dale, Earl, Leon, Harvey, Charles and Olis, Christine Huggins, Geneva Stanley and his brother-in-law Glenn James. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War on the USS Comstock. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, playing cards, gardening, watching westerns and raising champion coon dogs. Most of all he loved his daughters and family and his Lord. All of his faith was vested in Our Savior Jesus Christ, and he faithfully attended Rocky Point Baptist Church. He worked for Kokomo Springs in Kokomo, Indiana and retired from Swift Roofing in Murray, Kentucky.
He is survived by his daughters, Monica Sterling, LaTisha Shallenberger (Steven), grandchildren, Jonathan Cordell (Dimitri), Kaiden, Landen and Sophia Williams, Eain, Trase and Easton Shallenberger. He is also survived by his siblings Orene James, Veston Sterling, Revon Thompson (Jesse), Wincle Sterling and his brother-in-law Ronnie Stanley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Cole Funeral Home in Kensett. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Bald Knob.
