Cody Blane LeVassar was born on February 3, 1998, to Michelle Moon and James LeVassar and left this earthly world on February 8, 2026. Anyone who knew Cody knew that he lived his life pushing it to the limits and that he could be hard-headed. From the age of three, with Wednesday night full-on WWE wrestling matches with his dad Donald and Uncle John, to his insistence at age five on wearing only square-patch Wranglers, Cody always knew exactly who he was. At age 13, he decided to try his hand at bronc riding.
As a teenager, Cody helped Donald and Michelle with Darien Province Missions to Panama, where he assisted in building homes and installing solar panels for water treatment plants. During his high school years, his passion was rodeo-specifically bronc riding. At age 14, he won his first rodeo check in Snook, Texas, and earned his first buckle at 17 at the High School Rodeo Finals.
After graduation, Cody's commitment to his country led him to join the U.S. Marine Corps, but a previous rodeo injury led to a medical discharge. His dedication to public service continued through the Monaville Fire Department, as well as with the Cajun Navy, where Cody helped deliver supplies to Louisiana after Hurricane Ida.
Cody graduated from the Wharton County Junior College Police Academy in 2021, and from there began what he considered his true calling in public service. Cody answered the call to serve not once, but in every way he could-wearing the badge with honor.
Cody's greatest accomplishment and truest loves were his two girls, Emma and Everly. He loved being a father and truly wanted to give them the world.
Cody was preceded in death by his mother, Michelle Moon Norred; his father, James LeVassar; his grandfather, John Moon Sr.; his uncle, John Moon Jr.; and his great-grandmother, Dorothy Moon.
He is survived by his wife, Carly LeVassar; his children, Emma and Everly LeVassar; his stepfather and stepmother, Donald and Cammie Norred; his grandmother, Donna Moon; his sisters, Cassie, Aaliyah, Hannah, Gentry, and Tiffany; his brothers, Kaiden, Jon, and Santiago; his nephew, John Moon III; and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
Though Cody lived just 28 short years, he will be remembered for his loyalty to public service, his tenacity, and his deep love for his family. Cody was more than how he left this earth-he had talents, made meaningful contributions to the world, and touched the lives of others in lasting ways. Cody was, still is, and always will be loved, remembered, and cherished.
