With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Cody Wayne Smith, age 17, of Clarksville who left this world far too soon on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Born November 6, 2007, he was the son of Michael Wayne and Jennifer Lynn Smith. He was preceded in death by his Nanny, Pat Smith; grandpa, Dickie Smith; Papa, Jerry Farless; Auntie, Dot Temple.
A true athlete at heart, he had a passion for sports—especially basketball. Outside of sports, Cody found peace in the quiet moments of fishing. He loved being outdoors, casting a line and spending time in nature.
Above all, Cody cherished his family. He was a loving son and a devoted brother. His love extended deeply to his girlfriend, Hailey, with whom he shared many laughs, memories, and dreams for the future. The time they spent together meant everything to him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Michael Wayne and Jennifer Lynn Smith; sister, Kerstin Smith; brother, Austin Smith and fiancée, Sofia; grandmother, Diane Farless; grandfather William Coulson; uncle and aunt, Brian and Kelly Smith; great-aunt, Ann Wells; beloved girlfriend, Hailey Gregory; cousins, Alyssa and Hallie Smith, Samantha Gibbs and husband, Tommy, TJ and Marshall Gibbs; and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. a the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
