Cohl Jordan Carter-Wright February 13, 1994 - June 16, 2025
Cohl Jordan Carter-Wright was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1994 to Stanley Wright and Nicole (nee Carter) Harris. He passed away on June 16, 2025, in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Cohl had a big imagination from a young age that he nurtured into the pursuit of the arts. He attended Renaissance High School in Detroit, MI and graduated from Waukesha West High School in Waukesha, WI, where he participated in stage plays, musicals, and choir. With a passion for gaming and storytelling, Cohl graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film-a subject he could riff about for days. Cohl continued pursuing his passion in video gaming as a game QA tester putting every game to the test until they were perfect. His commentary could turn any bug report into a standup routine.
Cohl added to his cast of beloved friends and family when he met Kayla Vonckx in the summer of 2012. They married in May 2022 and were pet parents to their bunny Oakley and dog Kiki.
Cohl's laugh was loud and infectious. He gave the best hugs. You could always count on him to tell you a joke to make you laugh when you were down or impart words of wisdom when you needed a sounding board. He loved gaming and stories and could always recommend a new game, movie, tv show or book to try. If you got stuck in a game, you could hand him the controller, and he'd push a few buttons – and problem solved. When he wasn't gaming or working on his own script, you could hear him singing and his rich voice would fill the room.
Cohl leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Kayla, parents Stanley (Nyreia) Wright, Nicole (Stephen) Harris, Dave (Kim) Vonckx; siblings Amber (Chase) Tucker, Stephen Harris, Jr., Harper Harris, and Carsyn Harris; bonus siblings Josh Goldbaum, Sarah Peele, Milan Peele, Jazmyne (Denzel) Drone, Jhane Jones (Ladale Langston), Jaylynn Jones (Colin Jarvis); sisters-in-law Jenny (Mike) Daniels, Katie (Kyle) Piontek, and Brittany Vonckx (Logan Carnes); grandmother Rita McDonald; grandfather Stephen L. Carter Sr. nieces and nephews Aria Tucker, Gemma Piontek, Isla Piontek, Ever Daniels, Carter Tucker, DJ Duke, J'Dora Drone, Ladale Langston, Luna Jarvis; and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family.
