Colleen Teresa Brady

Colleen O'Shea Brady passed away at the age of 74 on the island of Maui on May 26, 2025
after a prolonged battle with cancer.
She loved her family, she loved her children, she loved her friends, she loved travel. She loved
life. Her biggest interest were people. Two of her favorite mottos were: Never, Never, Never
give up and all things are possible with God. She had friends all over the world. She had
numerous young people that she loved and mentored who called her their second mother.
She was an innovating entrepreneur incubating businesses before it was a trend. She did not
keep this talent to herself but shared this with others. She loved starting businesses and
helped mentor many people. Colleen was amazing, talented, Intelligent and brave. Her ability
to reflect on the good times and bad times with such equanimity is uncanny. She approached
death in a peaceful and accepting way. Trusting in God all the way.
She said the happiest times in her life was raising her children. She loved them totally and
completely and tried to give them every advantage in their lives. Michael Brady was the love of
her life and shared in her love of travel. They complimented each other in both travel and
business adventures.
Colleen started the Winston school in Del Mar, CA for children who lived differently There was
not a school like this in all of Southern California It still exists, and 150 children attend annually
and she considered this a memorial to her son Jeff.
In her lifetime Colleen started a number of nonprofits. She loved the island of Maui and
gave back to the Island in many ways. She was a philanthropist not only on the mainland but
especially on the island of Maui where she was a board member and officer in 6 nonprofits.
She loved contributing to the island. One project she was especially proud of was a project
at the University of Hawaii, a food innovation program that taught food entrepreneurs to take
their products to market and several were distributed nationwide.
Colleen was preceded in death by her loving husband Michael Brady and devoted son Jeff
Johnstone. She is survived by daughters Jennifer Johnston-Jones and Lindsay O'Shea.
Grandchildren: Oceane O'Shea Jones, Orion Schoettle Jones, Lucy Sophia Bloomhall, Cosette
Isabella Beloin, and grandsons Samual Beloin, Timothy Beloin, Henri Beloin, and Drew Beloin.
She is also survived by brother Timothy Shea, sisters Cathleen Miller and Joan King.
Nieces and nephews Kevin Shea and Tyson Shea, Erin Shea Brown, Mike Tatreau, Kelly King.
Great nephew Bodhi Brown.
Colleen will be buried with her husband Michael Brady at the United Sates Army Military
Academy in West Point, New York at a date to be announced later.
