Colleen Wendel Walker 1946 ~ 2024
Colleen Wendel Walker, age 77, passed away August 1, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born August 16, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Carl Neuner and Mary Adell Wendel.
Married Michael Joe Walker September 4, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed a variety of callings in the Relief Society and Primary.
She graduated from Granger High School and held many different jobs over the years. She retired at the end of 2015 from Waxie Sanitary Supply after 15+ years in the customer service department. Shortly after that, she moved to Las Vegas where she became a huge fan of the Vegas Golden Knights hockey team.
Colleen was a #1 fan of the Fast and Furious movies and she loved the Hallmark channel.
She generally strived to stay out of the limelight, but did provide wonderful acts of service her whole life. She made the best dinner rolls and was often volunteered for her baking prowess.
Survived by children: Kimberly (Jim) Griglack, Jennifer Walker, Jolene (Floyd) Millet, Russell Michael (Lindsay) Walker, Robert Marvin (Rachel) Walker, Randall Ian (Jenny) Walker; nineteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Glen Wendel; sisters: Marilyn Richards, Carol Malmstrom, Linda Dietz, and Joyce Brown. Preceded in death by husband Michael, father Carl, mother Mary; brothers, Don and Lynn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, 11 a.m., at South Jordan 5th Ward, 2550 West 9800 South. A viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
