Collin Richard Barnard February 10, 2009 - July 23, 2025
Collin Richard Barnard, age 16, left this world too soon on July 23, 2025. Born on February 10, 2009, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Collin was a cherished son, brother, and friend whose warmth and thoughtfulness touched all who knew him. He passed away at Claiborne Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
Collin's journey began as the beloved son of Nick and Sarah Barnard, and his adored sister, Adley Barnard. He survives by his grandparents, Angie and Rudy Shockley, Vicky Cochran, and great-grandmother Christine Carpenter. Though he was preceded in death by his grandparents Rick Barnard and George Cochran, and great-grandparents Jack and Ethel Barnard, Lou Barnard and Lloyd Carpenter, Anna Mae Cochran and Dalton Cochran, their legacy shone brightly through Collin's life.
A junior at Claiborne High School, where Collin was an active student. Collin was saved on February 2, 2019 and announced his calling to preach on August 8, 2022. Collin was a devout Christian and an active member of Dogwood Heights Baptist Church, where he contributed vibrantly to his church community.
Collin's passion for antique tractors was not just a hobby but a testament to his appreciation for history and craftsmanship. He dedicated countless hours to collecting and pulling these majestic machines, an interest that created bonds with fellow enthusiasts and a unique way to connect with the past. He loved spending time with his close friends Braxton, John and Nathaniel.
Described by those who loved him as loving, kind, and thoughtful, Collin lived a life that was a living example of these virtues. His presence was a comforting one, and his actions were always guided by a deep sense of empathy and a desire to bring joy to others.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his family, including his uncles and aunts, Christy and Tony Brock, Amy Langley and Jim Day, Richard Cochran and Alicia Cadle, and Ashley Cochran. Special "papaw" Jeff Jones and his wife Rita, along with his special friend Eddie "Short" Jones will hold dear the moments they shared with Collin.
Collin's life, though brief, was a testament to the beauty that can be created in each moment. Through his relationships and passions, he left an indelible mark on the world. As we say goodbye to Collin, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love, a life that will continue to inspire and be felt in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family will receive friends on Sunday July 27, 2025 from 4:00pm till 8:00pm at the Dogwood Heights Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 8:00pm with Rev. Travis Pressnell and Rev.
