Jeanette L. Barnard Age 99, of Edina, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay (Tom) Rickman; grandchildren, Katie (Turner) Putrah and Maria Rickman; and her sister, Dorothy Meyer of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Frank; parents, Joseph and Theresa Heltemes; brother, Eugene Heltemes; sisters-in-law, Dora Heltemes and Delores Kelly; and brothers-in-law, Robert Meyer and Michael Kelly. Jeanette was a graduate of Cathedral High School in St. Cloud. She went on to attend business college and the St. Cloud School of Nursing, where she found her lifelong calling as a nurse. She devoted 27 years to caring for patients at St. Mary's (Fairview Riverside) Hospital in Minneapolis. Above all, Jeanette loved spending time with her family and friends. She delighted in traveling and creating special memories. A talented seamstress and gifted knitter, she poured love into everything she made and was happiest when sharing her creations with others. Visitation will be held at Washburn-McReavy Edina Funeral Chapel, 5000 W. 50th St. on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 4-6 p.m., with a rosary at 5:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Chapel, 2445 County Road E, White Bear Lake, MN, on Friday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. www.Washburn-McReavy.com Edina Chapel 952-930-3996
