Obituary
Collis A. Blend, age 79 of Elkland passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 13, 1943 in Blossburg, PA, he was the son of the late Theodore and Ella (Faulkner) Blend. He retired from Carbaugh Tool Company, Horseheads, NY after 34 years of service. Collis married Cynthia I. Nelson and they shared 57 years together. He attended Tuscarora Baptist Church, was a member of the Senior Citizens Club, a member and former Fire Chief and President of the Osceola Fire Company and a member and former President of the Osceola Ambulance Association, and member of the C.V. Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed playing guitar, loved helping his neighbors out mowing lawns, wood working and his animals. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; daughter, Christine and David Dunn of Cranberry Twp., PA; son, Craig and Ann Blend of Street, MD; loving granddaughter, Samantha Dunn of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters, Ella Kipferl of Pine City, NY, Wanda Jankowski of Addison, NY and Wilma and Joe Hirschfeld of Addison, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Collis was preceded in death by his brothers, Wellington, Samuel, Theodore and Martin Blend and his sisters, Edna Tunison, Vera Knowles, Dorothy Doland, Elma Hornbrook and Florence Edwards. Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Monday, April 17th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18th, 2:00 PM at the Tuscarora Baptist Church, Addison, NY with Pastor Jamey Miller officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
