Concetta Ball Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. Lilburn-Tucker Chapel on Mar. 12, 2026.
Concetta Ball, OCDS, age 93, of Dacula, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, after a long illness.

She was born on May 20, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Andrew and Angeline Capreri.

On February 14, 1953, she married John (Jack) Ball, Sr. They began their life together in Philadelphia and later lived in New Jersey before settling in Tucker, Georgia, where they made their home for more than 50 years while raising their family. In later years, she lived in Dacula, Georgia.

From childhood onward, Connie had a remarkable habit of greeting those around her with warmth and genuine interest. She noticed people, welcomed them easily into conversation, and made others feel seen and valued. Many of her children's and grandchildren's friends simply called her "Mom" or "Grandmom."

Family life revolved around large gatherings and full meals shared together. Connie's life vocation was motherhood, not only to her own children, but to everyone who entered her home. She listened with patience, offered wise counsel, and gave comfort to anyone who needed it. Resourceful and creative in the kitchen, she prepared breakfasts, packed lunches, and served full family dinners where there was always room at the table for friends. She delighted in planning meals and bringing people together around the table. Long before internet searches and online recipes, family and friends often turned to her as their trusted source for what to cook for dinner.

Concetta was a devoted member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS) and made her Definitive Promise, a lifelong commitment to live according to the spirituality and mission of the Carmelite Order while serving God in her daily life.

She will be remembered for the care she showed to everyone she met and for the way she always parted with her familiar blessing: "God bless you."

Connie is survived by her children, John Ball, Jr. (Teresa), Stephen Ball (Terry), David Ball (Nancy), Susan Allred (Jim), Joseph Ball (Tami), Mary Andrews, and Christopher Ball (Terrie); her grandchildren, Christopher Ball (Kelly), Matthew Ball (Sarah Cearley), Jeremy Ball, Stephen Ball, Jr. (Vanessa), Sarah Ball (Jonathan Malone), Rachel Proctor (Logan), Jason Ball, Andrew Ball (Melissa Kennedy), Lauren Pazos Ball (Sebastian), Sean Allred (Katie), Danielle Ball, Jessica Ball, Chelsea Garcia (Flavio), Samantha Ball (Robert Tudor), Andrea Ball (Tyler King), Zachary Cooper (Kelly), Amanda Tressler (Dan), Emily Garrison (Cory), Hayden Andrews (Meghan), Alexandra Andrews (Shelby Kurland), and Isabelle Andrews; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lorraine Pennise.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Ball, Sr.; her parents, Andrew and Angeline Capreri; her grandsons, Robert Hill and Charles Allred; and her brother, Andrew Capreri.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on March 25 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 5373 Wydella Rd., Lilburn, GA 30047. A reception will follow the Mass.

Private interment will be held at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her Carmelite community, OCDS St. Therese, and mailed to Karen Burton, 628 Bridal Creek Dr, Bethlehem, GA 30620 or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, checks payable to St. Stephen, SVDP in memo, 5373 Wydella Rd, Lilburn, GA 30047 in her memory.

With a life rooted in faith, prayer, and love for others, may she now rest in the peace of Christ and share in the eternal joy of the Lord she faithfully served.

Online condolences may be left at www.billheadfuneralhome.com.
