Conley Griffin Obituary

Conley was born to the late Paul and Gelene Griffin on April 24, 1944 in Madison County, NC, where he lived all his life. He retired from the US Department of Agriculture where he worked as a Tobacco Grader. Farming was always a job that he enjoyed doing along with working in his wood shop, fishing, and caring for his dog. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren, never met a stranger, and loved telling the stories of his life. He was a member of Lower Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are: three children, Alma (John) Roland of Marshall, NC, Greta (Chad) Freeman of Flat Rock, NC, and Mark (Amanda) Griffin of Marshall, NC; six grandchildren: Nicholas Robinson, Hailey (Beau) Leclere, Jackson Freeman, Kennedy Freeman, Addison Griffin, and Xander Griffin; a great grandchild, Sawyer Leclere; sister, Diane (Stanley) Boone of Marshall, NC; brother, Darel (Lucretia) Griffin of Marshall, NC; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Services with Reverend Brian Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the funeral home on Sunday prior to the service.
