Connalee Cleveland Strawderman, 79, of Mathias, WV passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Sentara RMH Medical Center, Harrisonburg, VA.
Born on August 22, 1945 in Lost City, WV, he was the son of the late Price Strawderman and Roxie (Foltz) Strawderman.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Mongold, a grandson, Roger Foshee, 3 great-grandchildren, Grayson Strawderman, Bucklee Campbell, and Ella Grace Martin, a brother, Frank Strawderman, and a foster-sister, Ruth Miller.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha (Martin) Strawderman, his children, Pamela Reynolds (Welton) of Baker, WV, David Strawderman (Betty) of Moorefield, WV, Rebecca Smith (Bobby) of Mathias, Mike Strawderman (Lisa) of Mathias, WV, a foster-brother, Ervin Mattox of Baker, WV, his siblings, Ellen Shoemaker (Delmar) of Broadway, VA, Rick Strawderman (Patricia) of Wardensville, WV,23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a special grandson, Brandon Foshee.
Connalee worked for Red Funkhouser at Cargo Poultry for many years and also for Howell Metal. He owned and operated Strawderman's Landfill before he started Strawderman's Salvage Yard in 1992 with his two sons. He was always stripping copper and collecting aluminum cans. His family was his pride and joy and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Garrett's Chapel Church, Mathias, WV with Pastor James Carr officiating. Interment will be in the Strawderman Family Cemetery, Mathias, WV. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV.
