Connie Burch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home - Morris on Jan. 22, 2026.
Brookfield

Connie S. Burch, age 60, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026 at home after a recent illness and is now with the Lord.

Connie was born on June 1, 1965, in Hamilton, New York, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Janith (Snow) Burch. A proud graduate of Brookfield Central School, Class of 1983, Connie loved Brookfield deeply and was affectionately known to her family as "Miss Brookfield."

She pursued lifelong learning, attending SUNY Morrisville State College for Individual Studies, studying Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling at SUNY Brockport, and Family Therapy at Syracuse University. Connie dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a social worker in various employment opportunities, and for Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California.

Connie was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Brookfield, where she was known for her commitment to organizing, her giving heart, and her sacrificial service. She was always willing to drop everything to help someone in need and was deeply detail-oriented in all she did. Connie especially loved children and crafts and was famous for always having a project ready for kids to enjoy. She loved her friends at church.

She had a big heart and made friends wherever she went. Connie spoke her mind, loved swimming, baking, socializing, and enjoyed watching Survivor. She loved the ocean, beaches, and her cats. A passionate basketball fan, she especially loved cheering for Syracuse University. Above all, Connie was committed to caring for her mother and those she loved.

Connie is survived by her brother, Bruce Burch, her sister, Joan Burch, her Aunt Hazel Burch, a special friend and neighbor Gloria Owens, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be remembered for her generosity, devotion to others, and the joy she brought into so many lives. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Brookfield, 2416 Beaver Creek Rd, Brookfield NY 13314. Her memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM.

Memorial contributions in Connie's name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Brookfield, P.O. Box 6 Brookfield, NY 13314.

Connie's family has entrusted her care to Edd Stanimer of the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Brookfield. For online condolences to the family visit www.JohnstonFH.com.

I am shocked and so sad to learn of Connie's passing. We met at Faxton Hospital several years ago when the pool was open for weekly exercise programs. Connie was the life of our group, always sharing a story or a joke. After the pool closed, she notified each of us to come together for monthly lunches at area restaurants. We will miss you and I am certain Connie will continue being the organizer in heaven.

I'm so shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of Connie. She was a very kind and thoughtful person. We met at water aerobics in the early 2000's at the Faxton pool. We formed a group of friends who still meet monthly for lunch, thanks to Connie keeping us connected...years after the pool closed.
Connie, "We will miss you. Rest in peace."

Connie was one of my best friends in middle and high school. Facebook helped us keep in touch over the years. She had heart of gold and a truly generous and loving spirit
