Connie Jean Fullmer
1943-2025
Saratoga Springs, UT
Connie Jean Fullmer, age 82, passed away August 26, 2025 in Saratoga Springs, UT. Born June 23, 1943, in Salt Lake City to Lilly Anderson & William Eugene Unsworth. Attended schools in SLC and Pocatello & later enjoyed working for Zions Bank, took a break to raise her own & cared for other children, then returned to work at Bonneville Elementary, Bryant Jr. High & South High School before retiring from the payroll department at the Salt Lake City School District.
She faithfully held many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints including Young Women & Relief Society President & Gospel Doctrine teacher. Connie met future husband, Collins while staying with her grandparents every summer. They married in 1964 and raised their family in SLC and then retired to Delta, UT where they lived for several years at their Sherwood Shores home. She loved gardening (not so much weeding) & making her yard beautiful, traveling with friends & family, ATV riding, her beloved pets (especially the Pugs & Corgis,) See's Candy, Village Baker's chocolate cake, Johnny Mathis music and a good cheeseburger. Connie was known by her friends & colleagues as the "velvet hammer" and could tell them off without them even realizing it. She loved to shop and if she found a favorite pair of shoes, pants or shirt, she would buy one in every color! She always had a charitable project going, whether it was making crocheted hats to keep the homeless warm, baby blankets for new-born babies all over the world (primarily in Indian Reservations,) or satin pillowcases for anyone in need (We all have them!)
She was active in Delta with water walking and planning fun activities for the Senior Center. She once organized a clogging grandmas entertainment group, but had to quickly dissolve once they started having too many health issues. After Collins developed Alzheimer's, they moved back to Sandy, UT to care for him and later to South Jordan to live with her daughter's family and made many wonderful neighborhood friends who were so good to her. We love and will miss our "Gigi" but can't wait to see her again someday.
Survived by her three children: Julie (James) Hackett; Caleen (Drake) Marques; & Jeffrey (Becky) Fullmer. Eight Grandchildren: Brianna (Chris) Wardle; Christian Marques; Reagan Hackett; Reilly Hackett; Dallin Fullmer, Dane "Soda" Fullmer; Easton Fullmer; & Madux Fullmer (serving mission.) Four Great Grandchildren: Samantha Michel; Max Michel; Indie Wardle; & Grayson Kirby. Also survived by five siblings: Sherry (Doug) Cook; Robert (Adell) Unsworth; Mark (Marylin) Unsworth; Gary (Kim) Unsworth; & John (Diane) Unsworth along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and more. Preceded in death by husband Collins Fullmer and parents.
