Connie Mary Marie Cecile Middleton, born on November 10, 1943, in Flint, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at her home in West Branch, MI surrounded by her loving family at the age of 81. She lived in West Branch for over 40 years, formerly of Flushing, MI.
Connie’s life was marked by her unwavering faith and dedication to family and her passion for service. Connie graduated from Flushing High School and went on to forge a diverse career in service-oriented roles. She worked in various capacities, including positions at Phillips Van Heusen, Little Reds, Bortz/Villa as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and The Brook, where she served in the kitchen. Each role exemplified her commitment to caring for others. Her most profound joy came from raising her family, an achievement she cherished deeply.
Connie found joy in playing cards at the senior center, gardening, canning, camping, and campfires. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Jean (Tim) Greer, Rob Verran, Tricia Knowles, Mona (Chet) Wolosonowich, John (Michelle) Middleton Jr., Scott (Debbie) Middleton, and Tom Middleton. Connie had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, including Alexandria (Keith), Ariel (Michael), Aspen (Garrett), Hazen (Cassey), Amara, Jory, Kayleigh, Paige (Dereck), Seth, Cheyenne, Zak, Trevor (Jacob), Chad (Jessica), Jerimy (Amanda), RJ (Ashley), Michael, John III, Matthew (Tara), Amanda (Rick), Mark (Jun), Justin (Alex), Megan (Larry), Amber (Curtis), Keely, JR (LaTosha), Nichole (Ryan), Wayne, and Connor as well as her thirty-two great-grandchildren. Connie is also survived by her brother, Terry McLeod, in laws, Shirley McLeod, Judy McLeod, and Marketa McLeod and will be remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances (Mosher) McLeod, her husband, John Middleton Sr., as well as her sons, Michael and Steven "Chip" Verran, and her grandson, Jeffery Wolosonowich. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Zelma and Chester Wolosonowich, Dan McLeod, JoAnn Khoury, Donald and Carol McLeod, Robert McLeod, Jim McLeod, and David McLeod.
Connie’s warm heart and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be missed dearly, remembered for the beautiful memories she created and the love she spread so generously.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Compassus Hospice for the support and care they provided Connie and her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
