Connie Lee Presley, also known as Connie, Momma Connie, Mimi, and simply Grandma to the littlest ones who lit up her life, embarked on her final road trip across the celestial highways on September 6, 2025. She rolled into this world on April 18, 1955, in Illinois and took her last exit in Springfield, MO. The journey of her 70 years came to a peaceful close due to complications from cancer, but not before she left a mark of love, laughter, and a trail of sewing thread and diamond art sparkles behind her.
Connie's life was a tapestry of love woven with the threads of family and friendship. She is survived by a convoy of loved ones, including her children Kelly and Danielle, Angie and Crystal, Heidi, Shannon, Joseph and Elizabeth; her grandchildren, who were the stars in her sky, Erica, Skylar and Garrett, Drake, Clay, Lydia, Lili, Cason, Donna Jo, Izzy, Logan, and the much-anticipated Oaklea; and her great-granddaughter Rhilee. Her siblings, Cherri and Jeffrey, along with a caboodle of nieces, nephews, and cousins, also survive her. Connie was welcomed to the other side by her loving husband Donnie Jo Presley, her parents George and Carol, her brothers Georgie, James, Johnny, and Tom, who followed shortly after, and her granddaughter Porche and great grandson Liam.
Connie completed truck driving school in 1988, a skill she put to good use by conquering the open road alongside Donnie Jo. They spent many years over the road trucking, sharing stories, and probably more cups of diner coffee than medically advisable. After hanging up her trucker hat, she shifted gears to become the CEO of Grandbaby Care and Spoiling Inc., with a specialization in warm hugs and freshly baked cookies.
She found her sanctuary in the buzz of her sewing machine, the growth of her plants, and the twists and turns of her beloved crime shows- And let's not forget her daily rendezvous with the cast of General Hospital; she was their biggest fan.
In her teens, Connie was a baton twirler.
As we say goodbye to Connie, we imagine her cruising down the highway of eternity, windows down, laughter floating on the breeze, and a baton majestically twirling-because, why not? She lived a life full of joy, stitched together with moments of pure love, and embellished with the laughter of those she held dear. Connie will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing that her legacy will cruise on in the lives of all who loved her. Keep on trucking, Connie, until we meet again at that great truck stop in the sky.
