Connor James Rubin, son of Steven Brett Rubin and Michaele Marie Rubin, passed away on October 31, 2024. He was born January 6, 2005, in Wellington, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Okeechobee, Florida, a community he loved. He graduated from Okeechobee High School. Connor had a passion for animals and was a member of 4-H and FFA. He was pursuing his associate's degree at Indian River State College. He worked at Quail Creek Sporting Ranch and loved his coworkers and customers.
Connors greatest joy came from being out in nature. He took beautiful pictures of the sunrise and sunset. He loved snook and bass fishing and had a passion for hunting. From the time he was eight years old, he learned to hunt with his father and mother at their hunt camp in Lake City. In the last few months, while fighting his illness with all his strength, he was able to attend a Panther's game with his family and closest friends and had the privilege to sit in Sergei Bobrvsky's, the Panther's goal tender, personal suite. He saw the Blue Angels from a boat out in the ocean, went to Zach Bryan concert, went to a comedy club in Naples to see his favorite comedian, and enjoyed a hog hunt with the Python Cowboy.
Connor was a magnificent young man who managed his diagnosis like a warrior. He fought a valiant 10-month battle against an inoperable brain tumor. Connor wanted nothing more than to stay with the people he loved. Even in his last days, he was fighting hard and remained in close touch with his physicians to ensure that he had access to every available tool to combat his disease.
Connor was an inspiration to everyone he met. People were drawn to him like a magnet. Connor had the unique ability to make you feel like you were incredibly special, a gift few possess. Even after losing his ability to speak, he continued to text his friends and family to stay connected and let them know how much he cared about them. He always put others before himself. Connor was all about family, the one he was born into as well as the family of his heart – the one made up of people who became his aunts, uncles, sisters, and brothers.
Connor is survived by his loving parents: mother, Michaele Marie Rubin and father, Steven Brett Rubin; uncle, Robert Tice, Jr.; grandparents; 16 great-aunts and uncles; 34 cousins; and countless friends.

The first time seeing and spending time with Connor, was when he was about 6 months old.
Michaele you came to rescue me on a Saturday at the back door at Publix, when having trouble closing the end of week invoices.
Connor was such a good baby, not yet crawling but could sit up .
We put him into a giant cardboard box that styrofoam coolers came in,and he played with his toys quite content. Such a good baby.
There are no words to express the sorrow you are going through, I am thankful to God he is no longer suffering ,and one day we will see him again.
With Love and Prayers, Alice.
