Constance Marion Alger
(Retired Lt. Col., USAF Nurse Corps)
February 14, 1952 – November 28, 2024
Constance Marion Alger, known to all as Stacy, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, after a hard-fought three-year battle with cancer. Born on February 14, 1952, Stacy lived a life dedicated to family, service, and community.
She is survived by her devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Barbara Lee Williamson; her two caring sisters, Deborah Knudson and Nancy Twynham; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Among them, she cherished a special bond with her nephew, John Williamson, and his family.
A lifelong nurse and educator, Stacy was a Family Nurse Practitioner with an MSN and MSEd to her name. In addition to her career as an Air Force nurse, she cared for countless individuals as an Horry County home health nurse and as a nurse practitioner specializing in pain management for over 10 years. After retiring from clinical nursing, Stacy gave back to the profession she loved by co-founding the Alger Lee Advanced Practice Seminars with her wife, Lee.
Stacy was a true dog person (some even called her a "dog whisperer"), especially Miniature Pinschers, Pugs, and her rescued Walker Hound, Fantasy. She shared her love of dogs through the Myrtle Beach Kennel Club and served a term as president. Stacy was also an avid Mah Jongg player and always looked forward to her weekly get togethers with the local club. She was a proud member of Georgetown County Drinking Liberally, the Surfside Moose Lodge, and a former vice commander of the Murrells Inlet VFW.
Stacy's warmth, wisdom, kindness, and gentle good humor will be profoundly missed by many. She was deeply loved.
A celebration of Stacy's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to a local animal rescue or a veteran's organization in her honor.

Stacy was a fellow classmate and friend of mine at Flint Hill Prep in Virginia. We had a connection with both fathers being in the service and our interest in pursuing Nursing. I lost touch with her on and off (with her job away from the area), however she was able to make time for reunions and an occasional email. I was happy to hear from her that she had married, and I wished her many years of love and happiness with her wife. Today, I was deeply saddened when I heard she had passed on Thanksgiving, may her soul rest in peace.

Stacy was one of my nurses while stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB in the early 80's. She was very smart, and I sometimes felt intimated by her. We were both dog lovers and became involved in the local kennel club. I also loved her wife's family and spent many happy times with this "extended family". Stacy will be very missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. God bless dear friend, rest in peace.
