Constance Sargent Dockler passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, surrounded by the love and presence of her three devoted daughters. She was 93.

Born in Northfield, Vermont, on July 28, 1933, to Edward and Emma (Slack) Sargent, Connie was the eldest of three children and carried the quiet strength and grace of her Green Mountain upbringing throughout her life. After graduating from Northfield High School in 1950, she ventured to Boston with her lifelong friend Marge Green to pursue nursing training at Deaconess Hospital.

On May 1, 1954, she married her childhood sweetheart, Gordon S. Dockler. Their bond was one of enduring partnership and unwavering devotion. Following Gordon's graduation from Norwich University and his commissioning into the U.S. Army, Connie embraced the life of a military spouse with resilience and heart, managing 28 moves, two wartime deployments, and the countless transitions that come with service life. Through it all, she created a home filled with love, stability, and laughter for their growing family.

Though she held the title of Registered Nurse, Connie's true vocation was motherhood. She poured her energy and wisdom into raising three daughters, nurturing them with the same steadiness and care she offered to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

After Gordon retired from active duty, the couple settled in Walpole, Massachusetts, where Connie became deeply involved in her church and community service organizations. Later, they fulfilled a shared dream by moving to an old farmstead in Newport, New Hampshire, a place where they could finally slow down and savor the joys they had long postponed. Together, they gardened, quilted, traveled, fished, cheered for Boston's sports teams, and reveled in the company of family and friends.

Connie was predeceased by her beloved husband Gordon, her parents, her brother David, her brother-in-law Hugh, and a cherished niece. She is survived by her daughters Dianne Maciag (Marc), Carolyn Mallory (Jim), and Lauren Wobby (Richard); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister Elizabeth Haggerty; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry her memory forward with love.

Her legacy is one of quiet strength, enduring love, and a well-lived life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. If you wish to do so, a donation to your local Meals on Wheels or Hospice would honor Connie's memory.
