Constance Josephine Catherine (Meyer) Link, affectionately known as "Connie" to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in Avon, Indiana. Born on August 1, 1942, in West Point, Iowa.
Connie was the beloved daughter of the lateJerome Anthony Meyer and Elizabeth "Elise" Nolte-Meyer. She was a cherished wife to her late husband, David P. Link Sr., who recently passed away and a loving mother to her children, Tammy Bowen, Barbara Eldridge, Heather Nelson, and Shannon Taylor. Her siblings, Jackie (Joe) Thompson, Sharon Meyer, and Michael (Nancy) Meyer, held a special place in her heart. Connie's legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Jesse Bowen, Brittany Kreighbam, Gary Norman, Cameron Norman, Chris Sobecki, and Andreanna Nelson, as well as her nine great-grandchildren. She also had a special bond with her grandpup Paige, the neighbor's pup "Snuggles" she cared for during their vacations.
Connie's early education took place at St. Mary Catholic School in Iowa, where she developed a foundation of faith that would remain with her throughout her life. She was a devout Christian and a regular attendee of Queen of All Saints Catholic Mass. Even when she couldn't attend in person, Connie watched the Catholic Mass on Sunday mornings, ensuring her faith was always a guiding force in her life.
Throughout her career, Connie worked in various roles that reflected her caring nature and willingness to serve others. She was a school crossing guard, ensuring the safety of children, and a dedicated employee at Kmart, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and helpful spirit.
Connie's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her vibrant personality. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, she shared her love of baseball with her family and friends, celebrating each victory with the same enthusiasm as if it were her own. Connie's passion for roller skating, karaoke, and cooking brought joy and laughter to those around her. Her green thumb was evident in the meticulous care she took of her lawn, creating a welcoming space for family gatherings.
A master of Rummy, Connie enjoyed playing cards and was always ready for a friendly game. Her competitive spirit was matched only by her sense of fun and camaraderie at the card table.
Connie was preceded in death by two children David P. Link Jr. and Kelly K. Link; one brother Preston Meyer.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.
