Robert A. Link of Turtle Lake, near Lake Park, MN, died on the afternoon of July 17, 2025, at the age of 77 at the Sanford Hospice House, Fargo North Dakota.
Robert Allen Link was born May 26, 1948, in Hazen, North Dakota, to Alvin and Minnie Link of Beulah, North Dakota. They lived in Beulah until 1953 when the family moved to Medina, North Dakota. He graduated from Medina High School in 1966. Robert attended Valley City State College and North Dakota State University where he graduated with a degree in English and Science. He also graduated from Moorhead State University in 1974 with a degree in Elementary Education.
He began teaching for the Fargo Catholic School system in 1974. He taught at the St. Anthony’s Elementary School and later at Holy Spirit Elementary School. Robert retired in 2004 after 30 years of teaching.
Robert lived at his home on Turtle Lake near Lake Park, Minnesota from 1978 on. He enjoyed the lake and was active in the Turtle Lake Improvement Association and Minnesota Lake Monitoring through Minnesota Pollution Control. Also, for many years he was one of the best beach captains on Turtle Lake!
Robert was an avid bridge player. In addition to playing bridge several times a week with his friends, he also enjoyed working in his yard and garden, helping others, reading and going for pontoon rides.
Robert was a dedicated servant of the Lord and a vital member of Lake Park Lutheran Church. His contributions included serving on the Building Committee, singing in the choir, and most recently, ringing the bells in the Bell Choir.
Robert is survived by his sister Judith (Bill) Bader of Jamestown, ND; his brother Maynard (Adeline) of Medina ND; his brother Kenneth (Laurie) of Hazen, ND and 6 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his parents, his niece Nancy Bader, and his special friend Harold Trosen.
Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 25, 2025, at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN. A livestream of the service will be available here on Robert's webpage. Final resting place will be at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery, Conway, ND.
