Constance L. Meek, passed away on October 3, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital at the age of 78.
Born on May 1, 1947, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Angelo and Mary D'Onofrio Romano.
Constance was a proud graduate of Struthers High School, class of 1965, and embarked on a purposeful career in nursing that began at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She devoted herself to her profession, serving as a Registered Nurse (RN) and caring for countless patients throughout her career. After years of dedication in various nursing roles, she retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in 2015, leaving a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
Beyond her nursing career, Constance was actively involved in her community, participating in a local garden club and a nursing club. She found joy and fulfillment in crafting, sewing, crocheting, and cooking, often sharing her delightful creations with family and friends.
Above all, Constance had an unwavering love for her family. Her heart was especially full when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Constance is survived by her two children, Marla (Michael) Miller of Struthers and Geoff (Michele) Meek of Providence, RI; five grandchildren, Angela (Jake) Shirley, Cameron Shuey, Miro Meek, Chase Meek, and Mike Miller; two great grandchildren, Jax and Haven; and her partner William Bricker. By her side, as always, was her second daughter (Marla's best friend)--Kim Blankenship and her daughter Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Romano (wife Sue and son Nick); and grandson, Dominic Shuey.
Family and friends will gather to honor Constance's life at a graveside committal service on October 13, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
