Constance Starr Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 18, 2025.
Constance Eileen Starr, 91, of Greene, NY and Alexandria Bay, NY, peacefully walked into the loving arms of her Savior on December 17, 2025. She was born in Oakland, PA, to Ivan and Edith Edwards and was the second of eleven children.

On July 1, 1955, Connie married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Starr, Sr. Together they shared 53 years of marriage and raised four children. Connie was employed by The Page Seed Company in Greene, NY, where she worked until her retirement. Following retirement, Connie and Bob traveled throughout the Northeast in their mini camper, making friends wherever they went. Those travels eventually led them to discover their summer cottage on the St. Lawrence River.

Connie had many passions. She loved to crochet and read, creating countless afghans that she lovingly gifted to family and friends. In her younger years, she crocheted lace onto linen napkins alongside her mother. Connie was also well known for her homemade white cake, a recipe she began making at the age of 16 and one no one has ever been able to duplicate. A gifted cook, Connie made sure no one ever left her home hungry-there was always room for one more at the table. Her New Year's Eve parties were a cherished and much-anticipated tradition.

A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Connie was a faithful member of the Valley Church and the Reformed Church of the Thousand Isles. She enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School, attending women's Bible studies and Grow Groups, and reading her daily devotionals. Her faith was a constant source of strength throughout her life.

Summertime with her St. Lawrence River family was when Connie was the happiest. When she wasn't volunteering at the local thrift store, she could often be found enjoying a spirited game of dominoes with her friends or just sitting on her deck watching the ships pass.

Connie believed that animals were family and treated them as such. Whether offering a gentle hand, a warm lap, or a lifelong home, Connie found joy and purpose in caring for her furry companions.

Constance is survived by her children: Sandy (Gary) Jones, Robert Starr, Jr., and Judy (David) Rapp; her grandchildren: Amber, Corey, Timothy (Amanda) and Ryan Jones, Erica (Chad) Skinner, Robert (Danielle), David (Jessica), and Adam (Desiree) Starr; and her great-grandchildren: Landon and Addison Skinner, Bobby, Caden, and Parker Starr, Everleigh, Amelia, Kohen and Kasen Starr. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Sue, Carolyn, and Mary Edwards, Maryjane and Linda Starr; her brother-in-law Peter Metritikas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ivan and Edith Edwards; her devoted husband of 53 years, Robert Starr, Sr.; her son, Donald Starr; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert & Lula Starr, her sisters Barbara Metritikas, Carol Gianakos, and Dawn Holmes; her brothers Richard, William, James Allen, Gary, Charles, John Allen, and Douglas Edwards; her sisters-in-law, Hope Edwards and Dorothy Brenchley; and her brothers-in-law Allen Holmes, John Gianakos, Wilson, Daniel and David Starr, and Frederick Brenchley.

Honoring her wishes, no services will be held. Those who wish to remember Connie may do so with a donation to The Valley Church, 1452 River Rd., Binghamton, NY 13901.
